Sharing some thoughts that have come to me recently, like bits of glass darkly…
Many say, “Religion just isn’t for me.”
I respond, “Are you a human being? Then, religion is precisely for you.”
And add, “Do you mean that you don’t enjoy religion? Well, then, don’t take it up as a hobby and don’t look to it to entertain you.”

What’s the difference between adults and children?
Children know that they can’t do whatever the heck they feel like doing and live happily.

Saint Augustine wrote about the beautiful symmetry of Christ dying on the Cross on the same date upon which he was conceived in his mother’s womb. While singing my morning offertory prayer, these words caught in my mind with the symbolic beauty of March 25th and I reflected upon them further:
“My Lord and my God, I offer up to you this day, all I have and all I am…”
Jesus gave himself completely, gave his very body and blood as he breathed his last upon the Cross, in surrender to Divine Will, for the glory of God and the salvation of humankind . Mary gave herself completely, gave her very body and blood as she conceived by the Holy Spirit, in surrender to Divine Will, for the glory of God and the salvation of humankind …
All for you, my Lord and my God!
